The Recording Angel
2004 Fabric Sculpture
12.5” x 12” x 8”

*SOLD*

When we die, the recording angel is supposed to list all our deeds, good and bad, into the books of divine account, so that God may judge the souls therein as either saved or damned. In my view, I think it would be a mistake to expect a wise old scribe with whom one might share a wink or two of understanding. The clearest judgment is truly the laser-beam honesty of a child. One could take some relief in realizing that this figure is not really judging us. Still, as this is a very complex world, she does have to put a lot of thought into getting the record straight.
